Again

The kids had their first day of school, again. Savvy got tearful when we were getting dressed and didn't want to go. Baby girl doesn't fear roller coasters, the sea, the snow but getting in front of a crowd or meeting new people she clams up. We did extra hugs and kisses and told her how absolutely wonderful and loved she is and that brave girl went into class and rocked it! They both had a good day and the parents/teachers are very kind.
This is the view from the parking lot
and this is the best pic I could get, Cohen wanted his juice (I packed it for lunch but only water is allowed..oops) and Savvy wanted lunch

Evening in the Country

Michael's boss invited us over for dinner. Lucky for the kids he has horses, goats, chickens....and smores! It was really nice and the kids enjoyed the farm.

Live and learn

I respect the snow. I. RESPECT. THE. SNOW.
There is a snow park about 30 miles from Walla Walla. We were all so excited, got Savvy some snow boots, two sleds we were ready. When we woke up this morning, sledding was the first thing out of the kids mouth.
There is no snow in town but after getting into Oregon I saw more snow than I have ever seen. We found the park and there were people there sledding, cross country skiing, and camping. Camping in the snow. C.R.A.Z.Y. The "mountain" for sledding was probably only 1/4 mile walk. But after dragging the kids, carrying Caleb and my camera (that died) and every step you take sinking into the snow up to your knee. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe. I don't know the last time I have been that exhausted. Did I mention the elevation was 6000 feet? We went down the hill 4 times and headed back and will return when the kids are 10.

I kept on calling Savvy my snow baby. She loved it, like really loved it. She would just role in the snow and wanted to go down the big hill. We did it and totally crashed. She was yelling "yes, yes" and when I sat up she gave me a high five. She honestly is one of the funnest people I know.

A day to chill

We took it easy today and stayed in our pi's until noon. When Michael got home from work we decided to take a drive. I had to wake up Caleb and baby boy can make a fashion statement even while sleeping. Check out that hair and the one sleeve! These are the foothills of the blue mountains. It took us about 15 minutes to drive here from the house.

Here is our house for the next couple of months. I think it was built-in the 40's and is adorable. It's 3 bedrooms with a finished basement that has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I'm loving the basement, we have all the toys, crafts, aka all the messes downstairs.
Momma cooked tonight! Savvy helped me make the zucchini and baby boy had his first salmon. All of the kids love this fish. It felt good to cook and even better for Michael to do the dishes.

Reverse

I'm going through our day backwards on this blog, I'm just in that kind of mood:) We got sushi takeout tonight and somehow the kids can use chopsticks and after 30 years I still can't figure the things out

Michael got home from work and crashed on the floor, to our boys that means he looks like a bean bag. What I love is that Caleb is sitting on Cohen's head and looks perfectly comfortable

He is walking more and more
We raced 3 times today and she beat me every time. I really tried, to my defense I didn't have on my running shoes....that's what i'm going to keep on telling her
Speaking of shoes, I'm bringing back my love for shoes. Over the years running shoes have become a staple for me. The last two days I have felt like wearing cute shoes and the crazy thing is, I'm making a jump here so prepare, I feel like a better mom. There is something about slipping on some heels that temporarily make me feel like I can conquer the day, that i can do this mom thing, that i still have the part of me that has ALWAYS loved shoes. So today I toast you cute shoes that make me smile.

Settling in

Today was a good day. Our stuff is unpacked, we feel rested and even met the neighbors. The people here have been INCREDIBLY nice, out of their way nice. It is the friendliest town.
We attempted a picnic at pioneer park, but after 20 minutes I was so cold and talked the kids into eating at home. We watched a movie and painted while Caleb took his nap. Michael walked home from work today (we only have 1 car right now), then we ate at Fat Olives. It was good but we didn't get to stay long because baby monkey did not want to sit in his high chair, my lap, Michaels lap, he did not like Fat Olives. I'm not sure if they will let us back in:)

Going away Party

Our last weekend in Memphis was emotional and wonderful. Our family was loved on in a way that could easily have been turned into reality TV. What we have in Memphis is unmovable.period. The love here cannot be touched by distance. My heart has overflowed with thanksgiving to God for our family and friends.
Saturday night we had a party at April's house. It was so much fun and overwhelming to tell everyone bye at the same time. I'm just going to post as many pics as I can
Michael had jokingly told mom he wanted a moose cake. My mom delivers and surprises!! We should have had a formal cutting of the Moose, no one cut into it

This was just one room of the food. Mom, Becky, April and Sandy all made the food
Michael's route
I love her
Friends since middle/high school. Really going to miss our supper club!

I have never seen this time on the mini-van
