Up in here

Ahhhh, the day is almost over.  Today was a very good day, but it was hard, challenging and rewarding as most days are when your raising kids :)  When I was making dinner I was singing (in opera) "y'all gonna make me lose my mind up in here, up in here".  I promised Savvy and Cohen they could sleep with me tonight (Michael's backpacking) and we are all going to be in bed by 7:30.  I will have a book, glass of wine and snugglers, I'm pretty excited.

 I woke up today with a shiner.  I'm SO kidding.  Apparently I'm allergic to Pro-active.  This picture really makes me laugh.  I tried to wear my sunglasses all day, but there were times, like talking to the librarian in the dark library, when I had to take them off.  People really did try not to look at it...Ha.

That's a Bad One

I honestly don't get it.  My boys have YET to get even a decent hair cut.  I love their hair long but  I usually let it go longer than I would like because I dread, dread the haircut.  All the kids have a double crown so I know that makes it hard to cut.  But seriously look what Caleb ended up with. 

 That doesn't even make sense :)  Bless his sweet little mullet heart.  This is hands down the worst of the worst.  The back was even longer but I asked to cut it a little shorter before we left.

Our Week

Our week started with a very sick little boy!  We stayed at home for 2 days and my busy little toddler turned into a cuddle bug.  I was the lucky one who got to hold him.

 The Dr. prescribed Motrin, milkshakes and mom :)  He didn't want a spoon, or to drink out of the straw but to use the straw as the spoon.  He was eating so I didn't interrupt

 Cohen has found a love for "science".  I'm still discovering what all falls under his definition of "science".  We got a plate of milk and put different food colors on it and  mixed it with liquid soap.  They liked it but it was over pretty fast, probably wont do it again  

Saturday we drove to tri-cities so Michael could get some new running shoes.  We had lunch

                   and Caleb was into the women's ribbon competition of the olympics

        Caleb and I took a wonderful Sunday nap today and woke up to car washing

Sigh

Savvy has been talking about getting her ears pierced for over a year and after dragging my feet I folded.  I was never against it, but I knew how much older she would look.  So alas we did it.  She was so excited and nervous and decided that "flower" should come with us.

 The lady who did it was a bit chatty and probably not the best for young girls.  Right before the piercing she looked at Savvy and asked "your not going to freak out on me are you?"  And boo-yeah negative ear piercing lady.  She rocked it, no tears just fish face:)

She said that they aren't sore and she has been twisting them when I clean it.  She picked out the butterfly December birth stone.  Teal is her favorite color:)  Her little ears look beautiful

Deja Vu

We had so much fun camping at Lostine we decided to do it again:)  Two families came with us and it was Dyan's (my type A, self-professed germaphobe friend) first time to go camping.  We left Saturday morning and got there for lunch.  Caleb was so excited he started table dancing.

And after only being there for a few hours this is Cohen's foot.  That has to be a talent of some sort

 Call it a mother's instinct but I know exactly what he is thinking right here "yes mom, I'm about to squeeze this entire Capri-Sun out and please don't try and stop me"

 After we got camp set up and the kids played in the river we went on a hike.  The younger kids were pretty slow but made it all the way to the top.  We think it was about a mile and half up and there was a waterfall at the top and a beautiful view.

 It was Renee's birthday(I think she turned 21 :)  And the kids sang happy birthday before smores

 After we left we drove to a small town called Enterprise.  There is a Brewery/Pub there called Terminal Gravity that's popular.  It was so good and felt perfect in the shade.  You eat outside and the kids played in the creek.  What I didn't get a picture of was Caleb.  He loved it and was completely soaked by the time we left.

It was a wonderful weekend with great friends and laughs.  Dyan survived and I think might have even liked it.

 Sweet Savvy tripped and landed on a rope, getting a rope burn.  She wanted me to post a picture so her grandparents could see it.

This and That

Today was a pretty funny day, that ended with dancing.  Halfway through our jam time Savvy said "Lets get this party started and have some gum".  I was like absolutely!  I got the gum and she said "lets really get rockin and have the whole piece"  Lets hope that all of her parties start and end with only juicy fruit.

When I was tucking the kids in tonight I went to Caleb and tried to kiss him through the crib rails.  (this is what we do so its nothing new)  He looked at me stood up and stuck his foot out for me to kiss.  I kissed and the prince was content to lie down and sleep.  Stinker, but look what I'm dealing with.

    The kids packed their backpacks and asked to go on an adventure.  We did a loop on our street:)

and Savannah and I might have put her bathing suit on Caleb this morning.  We love you Caleb and I'm sure little brothers all around the world have to deal with this

 Savannah has really been taking on a mommy role around here.  She wants to get Caleb out of his crib, make his milk, cuddle with him, and take care of whoever will let her.  Tonight I was bathing the boys and she wanted to help, so she washed Cohen's hair.  When she was scrubbing Cohen said "you rub just like mom".  Sweet boy.  I don't even know how I scrub, but I must have passed it down:)  oh then she wanted to rock him and of course this little cuddle bug was happy.
